Flea & Tick Prevention

To prevent flea and tick infestation you must treat the pet, home, yard, and sometimes the car. Eliminating adult fleas and ticks from your pet may not be enough as eggs and larva are often found in carpet, bedding and upholstery as well as cracks in doors, floors and windows.

Products that aid in flea and tick control come in the forms of shampoos, spot-ons, sprays, wipes, dips, collars, foggers and dusts. Some act as repellents, some kill adult fleas and ticks, and some attack the immature fleas, preventing them from developing into adults that reproduce and continue the life cycle. Some products do all three. Only buy products that are labeled for use on the species of pet you will be using them on such as dog or cat. Cats are very sensitive to drugs and chemicals, so be sure to read labels carefully.
